Robert Eugene "Bob" Frowein, 78, a former resident of Washington, died Tuesday at his home in Goldsboro.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Paul Funeral Home in Washington. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery in Washington.
Mr. Frowein was born in Detroit, Mich., on Aug. 12, 1927. He served in the Army, Marines, Navy and the Army National Guard. He retired as general manager of WITN-FM 93.3 Radio Station with 35 years of service. While living in Washington, Mr. Frowein was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was an Eagle Scout and was very active in Scouting. After his retirement, Mr. Frowein moved to Goldsboro.
He was married to the former Zelma Moore, who preceded him in death on June 23, 1987.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Robert Frowein and his wife, Jamie, of Goldsboro and James Eugene Frowein and his wife, Missi, of Westley Chapel, Fla.; four grandchildren, Sean and Brandon Frowein of Goldsboro, Adam Frowein of Virginia and Colby Frowein of Westley Chapel, Fla.; two brothers, Richard Frowein of Macomb, Ill., and James Frowein of Juliet, Ill.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Shirley and Don Wilkinson of Washington Park, N.C.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home in Washington.
