REV. RICHARD CONYERS

PIKEVILLE -- The Rev. Richard Lee Conyers, 44, died Thursday morning at his home.
He was a native of Sumter County, South Carolina, and was the son of R.L. and Paulette Robinson Conyers of Sumter. He was an ordained Free Will Baptist Minister and a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church in Goldsboro. He had served as pastor of a number of churches including Victory Free Will Baptist Church in Levelland, Texas, Westside Free Will Baptist Church in Midland, Texas, Saint John Free Will Baptist Church in Patrick, S.C., and Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church in Lockhart, S.C.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Brenda Pate Conyers; one son, Lee Conyers, and one daughter, Lauren Conyers, both of the home; two brothers, Gerald Conyers and the Rev. Rusty Conyers of Sumter, S.C.; and his maternal grandmother, Ilene Robinson of Sumter, S.C..
The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Faith Free Will Baptist Church in Goldsboro. The Reverends Dann Patrick, Phil Ange and Chad Watson will officiate. Interment will be at Pate Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday morning from 10 until 11, one hour prior to the funeral, and other times at the residence at 6093 Wayne Memorial Drive.
