WILBUR TYNDALL

PINK HILL -- Wilbur Andrew Tyndall, 79, died Sunday at his home.
He was born in Kinston to the late Andrew Herman "Boss" Tyndall and Mary Davis Tyndall. He served in the United States Army during World War II and owned and operated the Pink Hill Supply Company in Pink Hill for 30 years until retiring in 1982. His hobby was collecting antique automobiles, tractors and other agricultural-related memorabilia, which are displayed in the Wilbur A. Tyndall Museum
As a member of Lenoir County Historical Association, Mr. Tyndall directed the restoration of the school house at Harmony Hall. He was a member of the Pink Hill United Methodist Church, the Pink Hill Business and Professional Club and American Legion Post No. 379.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret Ann Tyndall; one son, Cliff Tyndall of Wilmington; one daughter, Cathy Tyndall of Pittsboro; and one granddaughter.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Pink Hill United Methodist Church. The Rev. Vernon Brown will officiate. Burial will be private and will be in Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
Flowers are acceptable, or memorial contributions may be made to the Pink Hill United Methodist Church.
