Michelle Elouise Bowden, 38, of 114 W. John St., died Friday at Duke Medical Center in Durham.
She was the daughter of Mildred Bowden and Leo Jarman. She graduated from James Kenan High School in 1985 and attended North Carolina Central University. She was formally employed with the Durham County Sheriff's Department and Durham County Department of Social Services.
A funeral service will be held 12 p.m. Tuesday from the New First Baptist Church Kenansville with Pastor E.T. Coston officiating. Burial will follow in the Rhodes Cemetery in Mount Olive.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by one daughter, Courtney Bowden of the home; her grandmother, Mattie Southerland of Warsaw; one brother, Leo A. Jarman of Raleigh; and one sister, Charlene Dixon of Raleigh.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
