MILDRED K. DAVIS

SNOW HILL -- Mildred Kearney Davis, 69, died Thursday at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A native of Greene County, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Marie Bartlett Kearney. She worked for many years with GSH Corporation in Snow Hill and was a dedicated homemaker. Mrs. Davis was a member of Harrell's Chapel FWB Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Clinton Davis on September 2, 2000.
Her surviving family includes her daughter, Cindy Davis Norville and husband, Curtis, of Snow Hill; a son, Dwight Davis and special friend, Marsha Hart, of Snow Hill; a brother, James Melvin "Jimmy" Kearney and wife, Cora, of Snow Hill; grandchildren, Bryan Christman, Curt Norville and Bliss Norville; honorary grandchildren, Brianna Rhodes, Jason Rhodes and Christy Dubois; and honorary great-grandchildren, Tristan Rhodes, Jaelyn Rhodes and Taylor Potts.
The funeral will be held today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service. The Rev. Alvin Keener and the Rev. Chuck Owens will officiate. Interment will be at Snow Hill Cemetery.
The family received friends on Saturday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home, and other times at the residence at 1138 Davis Road, Snow Hill.
