Melvin J. Pfau, 72, of 1900 Berkeley Blvd., died Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A native of Chicago, Ill., he was the son of the late Milton J. Pfau and Ann Stephan Pfau, and was married to the late Martha Arendt Pfau. Mr. Pfau was a veteran of the United States Navy and was a retired telephone lineman.
A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Humes Funeral Home in Addison, Ill. Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, Ill.
He is survived by his son, William "Bill" Pfau and wife, Kelly of Goldsboro; his daughters, Donna Aufmann and husband, Jeff of Cary, Ill., Janet Lacriola and husband, John of Burlington, Wis., Barb Bucher and husband, Al of Boyceville, Wis., and Sue Parello and husband, Tony of Mundelein, Ill.; his brother, John Collier of Baton Rouge, La.; and his grandchildren, Lauren, Erin, William, Madeline, Mari, Chris, Nicole, Kyle, Chelsea, Taylor, Jason, Matt, Jordyn, Jimmy and Anthony.
He was preceded in death by a sister, June Ruopp.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, Va., 23058.
The family will receive friends Monday from 3 until 8 p.m. at Humes Funeral Home.
