KINSTON -- Vernon Drew Howard, 68, of 498 Hines Avenue, died Monday at Lenoir Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Rouse Funeral Home Chapel in LaGrange. The Rev. Arnold Ball will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Mr. Howard was born in Lenoir County to the late Kirby Drew Howard and Kathleen Barwick Howard. He was employed in the Environmental Services Department at Caswell Center.
His survivors include four sisters, Helen Smith of Virginia Beach, Edna Hinson of Goldsboro, Ann Wright of LaGrange and Gail Godwin of Norfolk; and five brothers, William Earl Howard Sr., Pete Howard and Dennis Howard of LaGrange, Cecil Ray Howard of Goldsboro and Buzzy Lutter of Kinston.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 8:30 at Rouse Funeral Home, and other times at the home of Ann Wright, 4854 Alphonso Walters Road, LaGrange, or Pete Howard, 509 South Caswell Street, LaGrange.
