DUDLEY -- Thelma Strickland Medford Deans, 82, of 132 Holloman Lane, died Tuesday at her home.
Mrs. Deans was born in Wayne County on August 28, 1923 to the late Loftin Strickland and Addie Capps Strickland.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 5 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randall Barfield officiating. Interment will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.
Mrs. Deans is survived by her son, Edward Earl Medford and wife, Alice, of Grantham; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Harvey Blair Medford, Sr.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brogden Chapel P.F.W.B. Church, 1060 Emmaus Church Road, Dudley, NC 28333 or the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC 27834.
The family will receive friends at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her residence.
