Died Oct. 16, 2005
The funeral for Elder Walter Franklin Reid Sr. will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Little Rock Church of Christ, 1307 N. NC Hwy. 581, Pikeville. Elder David Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mr. Reid is survived by his wife, Carrie L. Reid of the home; two sons, Johnny Reid of Bronx, N.Y.,, and Henry Reid of Goldsboro; three daughters, L. Jean (Michael) Boone of Macon, Ga., Geraldine Reid of Bronx, N.Y., and Katherine Summers of Goldsboro; one brother, Alfronza Reid; one sister, Beulah Ellis of Goldsboro, one sister-in-law, Fannie (Davis) Wynn of Goldsboro; and 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, Walter "Boat" Reid Jr.
The viewing hours will be from 3 until 8 p.m. today at Hamilton Funeral Chapel and the family will be present to receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m.
