John A. Hall, 81, of 2006 Hilltop Lane, died Saturday at Britthaven Nursing Home in Kinston.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Pine Forest United Methodist Church with the Rev. Billy Olsen officiating. Interment will be at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Kentucky.
Mr. Hall was born in West Virginia on Aug. 7, 1924, to the late John Andrew Hall and Emma Brawn Hall. He was a member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church and sang in the church choir. He was an avid outdoorsman and served as Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 258. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Leora Lantz Hall; and his brother, William C. Hall, of Lexington, Ky.
