MOUNT OLIVE -- Lillian Kornegay Best, 83, long-time resident of North Johnson Street in Mount Olive, died Sunday night at Britthaven of Harnett in Dunn.
She was the daughter of the late Edgar and Belle McCullen Kornegay and was a retired legal secretary. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mount Olive, the Daughters of the American Confederacy, and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
The widow of H. G. Best, Jr., she is survived by a niece, Lillian Kaye Mauldin and husband, Monty, of Coats; and two great-nephews, Daniel and Jedidiah Mauldin of Coats.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home with interment following in Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service.
