MOUNT OLIVE -- Shirley Pickett Bell, 57, of 523 Washboard Ave., died today at her home.
The funeral will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Tyndall Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Frank Harrison officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m. on Friday in the Bud Taylor Family Cemetery on Thurman Herring Road, Mount Olive.
Mrs. Bell was the daughter of the late Russell M. and Evelyn Taylor "Teat" Pickett. She was employed as a supervisor with Excel Linde in Goldsboro and was a former supervisor with Mount Olive Sportswear. She attended the Long Ridge Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Melissa Bell Cavenaugh and Carroll Cavenaugh of Mount Olive; a brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Patricia B. Pickett of Mount Olive; three grandchildren, Laken Victoria Baker, Brittney Nicole Thigpen, and Carmen Lena Merritt; a great-grandson, Zale Grady; a nephew, Russ Pickett, and his son, Bradley, of Mount Olive, and a niece, Christy B. Price, her husband, Kevin, and their daughter, Hannah, of Mount Olive.
The family will remain at the funeral home to receive friends following the funeral on Thursday night. At other times they will be residence in the Pleasant Grove community.
