FOUR OAKS -- The funeral for Bessie M. Stanley, 66, of NC 222 West, Fremont, was held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Minshew Funeral Home. Burial was in Bethel Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Stanley died Thursday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
She is survived by two daughters, Penny Caruso of Snow Hill and Betty Hayes of Goldsboro; two sons, Danny Glenn Stanley of Hamilton, N.J., and Kenneth Stanley of Fremont; her mother, Rosa Barnes of Kenly; five sisters, Lois Gardner of Chadbourne, Alene Mooring of Pikeville, Kathleen Mooring of Fremont, Gayle Pate of Lucama and Martha Dail Robinson of Kenly; and seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family received friends on Saturday night from 7 until 9 at Minshew Funeral Home.
