KINSTON -- Mitchell "Mike" Bynum Potter, 48, brother of Jimmy Potter of LaGrange, died Sunday from cancer.
Mr. Potter attended Tabernacle Church and was a ceramic tile installer with Gerald Jones Tile Company. He was preceded in death by his father Jesse Burney Potter, and is survived by his mother, Annie Potter of Kinston.
In addition to his brother and his mother, he is survived by his wife, Kathy Potter of Kinston; two daughters, Kaitlyn Potter and Kristen Marie Potter of Kinston; six sisters, Lucille Hooker, Dinah Wilson, Jean Rose Thomas, Patsy Gates and Karen Byrd of Kinston and Sue Drives of Conroe, Texas; two other brothers, Jesse Potter of Juliette, Ga., and Henry Potter of Kinston.
The funeral will be held tonight at 7 in the Chapel of Howard-Carter Funeral Home with Allen Ham officiating.
The family will receive friends afterward, and other times at the home of Lucille Hooker, 2148 Lane Road, Kinston.
A private burial will be held at a later date at Westview Cemetery with the Rev. Walter Bradshaw officiating.
