The funeral for Mary H. Strickland, 86, will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Friendly Holiness Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, Mount Olive. The Reverends Marvin Bryant, Charles Pittman and Betty Edwards will officiate. Burial will be in Eureka Christian Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Strickland died Wednesday at Britthaven Nursing Home in Goldsboro.
She was a former resident of Dobbersville and was the widow of Ralph G. Strickland.
Her survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Eva and George Cartwright of Drakes Branch, Va., Alice Faye and Jimmy Mitchell of Mount Olive, and Sharon and Stacy B. Johnson of Four Oaks; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe Dan and Carol Strickland of Mount Olive and Jerry and Frances Strickland of Smithfield; two sisters, Sudie Belle Strickland of Mount Olive and Elease Herring of Mount Olive; two brothers, Earl Houston of Dudley and Norwood Houston of Richmond, Va.; and 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. today at West & Dunn Funeral Home in Newton Grove.
