Dixie Sullivan Smith, 82, died Friday at the Brian Center.

The funeral will be held Sunday at 7 p.m. at Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Bailey and Rev. Barry Williams officiating. Interment will be on Monday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

Mrs. Smith was born in Wayne County to the late Charlie Sullivan and Mary Lucretia Combs Sullivan. She was married to the late Oliver Wendell Smith and was a home-maker. A member of Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church, she was a charter member and past president of its Women's Auxiliary, and was also a charter member and past president of the Home Extension Club in Goldsboro.

She is survived by one son, Linwood O. Smith, and his wife, Jewel Adams Smith, of Goldsboro; and her grandsons, Jeremy A. Smith and Brandon O. Smith, both of Goldsboro.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Cleatus Sullivan and her sisters, Hazel Sullivan Pate and Lois Sullivan Howell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church, 752 Stoney Creek Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.

The family will receive friends at Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church following the service on Sunday night, and other times at her home, 1806 Hwy. 111 North, Goldsboro.
