Thomas Eugene "Tommy" Burch, 55, of 643 Thunder Swamp Road, died Monday morning at his home.

The funeral will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Tyndall Funeral Home with Dr. Lily Chou officiating. Following the service, the family will remain at the funeral home to receive friends, and at other times they will be at home. The committal service will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday in the Amos Lanier Cemetery, Chinquapin.

Mr. Burch was the son of the late Robert Huntley Burch Jr. and Elizabeth Godwin Burch. He had served with the N.C. National Guard and was a farmer. He was a member of Smith's Chapel United Methodist Church and the Community Hunting Club.

Mr. Burch is survived by his wife, Teresa Jo Lanier Burch of the home; two stepchildren, William Paul Bryan of Pinehurst and Melissa Rose Bryan of Pink Hill; two grandchildren, Colton Taylor and Gage Fields; a brother, Robert H. "Bobby" Burch III and his wife, Bobbie, of Mount Olive; a niece, Kimberly Burch Jones, her husband, Darrell, and their daughter, Caroline, all of Mount Olive; his wife's parents, William and Dot Lanier of Goldsboro; and his best friend, Judson Sutton, and his wife, Shelia, of Calypso.
