SALLY W. OVERMAN

Sally Katherine Walker Overman, 70, of 715 Ridge Drive, died Monday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Gideon and Ethel Burch Walker. Mrs. Overman was a graduate of Mount Olive High School and was employed for 38 years as an inspector with General Electric, having retired in 1995. She was a member of Victory Free Will Baptist Church.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Ronnie Peele and David Kriger officiating. Interment will be on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

Mrs. Overman is survived by her husband, Newlon M. Overman; her daughter, Kathy O. Lamm, and husband, Robert, of Pikeville; her son, Mac Overman and wife, Lorraine, of Mount Olive; her brothers, Shorty Walker and wife, Betty, of Hot Springs, Ark., Ray Walker and wife, Geneva, of Mount Olive, Donald Walker and wife, Stella, of Wilson and Buddy Walker and wife, Linda Lou, of Surf City; her grandchildren, Amber Overman of Wilmington, Brittani Overman and Corey Overman, both of Mount Olive, Kevin Lamm and Kelly Lamm, both of Pikeville; her great-grandson, Joseph Lamm of Goldsboro, her special friends, Delma and Betty Jackson, and her special caregiver, Diane Sellars.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Lawrence Walker.

Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service on Wednesday night, and other times at the residence.
