PETERSBURG, VA. -- Berta Johnson, 77, of 458 Reservoir Heights, died Friday at Southside Regional Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday from the Garris Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Louise Lee will officiate. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband, James A. Johnson of the home; a daughter, Evelyn and husband, Ulysses Bowden of Mount Olive; two granddaughters, Amber Bowden of Mount Olive and Yvonne B. and husband, Victor Parker of Newport News, Va.; and one great-grandson, Victor M. Parker of Newport News, Va.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 7 at the Garris Funeral Home Chapel, and other times at the home of Ulysses and Evelyn Bowden, 705 S. Breazeale Ave., Mount Olive.
Garris Funeral Home is serving the family.

CLARENCE JOYNER
MILTON, FLA. -- Clarence P. "Larry" Joynce, 82, died Saturday morning at his home.
He was a Johnston County native.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Holland Joyner; and two children, Jason Joyner and Sherry Joyner; three brothers, Wilson Joyner of Fremont, Dan Joyner of Richmond, Va., and Mickey Joyner of Tarboro.
Milton Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
