DUNN -- Mildred Smith Head, 89, sister of Ruby Pope of Goldsboro, died Thursday at Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Gospel Tabernacle in Dunn, where she was a member. The officiating ministers will be King White, Eddie White Ricky Head and KenMilliken. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Dunn.

Mrs. Head was a native of Greene County, born on June 23, 1916, to the late John R. and Leona Stallings Smith. She was the widow of Royce Wayne Head and was a homemaker.

In addition to her sister, Mrs. Head is survived by one daughter, Janice H. White of Dunn; two sons, Donald Head and Ricky Head of Wilson; another sister, Jessie Mozingo of Ocala, Fla.; and nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Gospel Tabernacle, and other times at the home of the Rev. King and Janice White, 119 Brandywood Drive, Dunn.

Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson is serving the family.
