MARIE L. TAYLOR

March 3, 1933-July 20, 2005

STANTONSBURG -- Mrs. Pearl Marie Lancaster Taylor, 72, of 227 Watery Branch Church Road, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday.

Mrs. Taylor was born in Wayne County on March 3, 1933, to the late Redden Bryant Lancaster Sr. and Selma Worrell Lancaster. She graduated from Eureka High School in 1950 and was a home-maker and had worked with her husband at the Taylor C. Mart in Eureka, which they owned and operated.

Mrs. Taylor was a faithful and dedicated member of Watery Branch Free Will Baptist Church for over 60 years, where she served as past president of the Ladies Auxiliary, as a Sunday school teacher, as a member of the choir and was past director of the Children's Choir. She had a great love for music and had sung with her brother, R.B. Lancaster Jr., for over 50 years at area churches and for funerals.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Watery Branch Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. A.G. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Eureka Cemetery.

Mrs. Taylor was a beloved wife to her husband of 54 years, Hoover Taylor. She was a beloved mother to Randy Taylor and wife, Linda, of Eureka and Dr. Steve Taylor and wife, Pam, of Goldsboro. She was also a beloved grandmother to Brandon Taylor of Fuquay Varina, Tyler Taylor of Deep Run, Bradley Taylor of Eureka, Natalie Taylor of Goldsboro and Steven Taylor Jr. of Goldsboro; her sisters, Hilda Boyette of Wilson, Shirley Holt of Fayetteville, Faye Wise of Eureka and Grey Sauls of Eureka; her brothers, Linwood "Bud" Lancaster of Wilson, R.B. Lancaster Jr. of Stantonsburg, and Ray Lancaster of Eureka.

She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth H. Taylor.

The family will receive friends at Seymour Funeral Home on Friday from 7 until 9 p.m. and other times at their home.
