CLINTON -- Tharon Harper Wilkins Baker, 84, died Thursday at Southwood Nursing and Retirement Center.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Community Funeral Home of Warsaw. Burial will be in the Devotional Gardens.

Msr. Baker was the daughter of the late Kinsey Harper and Cindy Potter Harper of Duplin County. She was a former resident of Warsaw and Turkey and was a member of Warsaw Pentecostal Holiness Church.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Andrew Wilkins and Lloyd J. Baker; one daughter, Mary Wilkins Whaley; one son-in-law, Ralph Carter; five brothers, Jesse Harper, Tom Harper, Jack Harper, Coy Harper and Ben Harper; and four sisters, Bessie Harper Williams, Lucy Harper Outlaw, Tempie Harper Kornegay and Viola Harper Davis.

She is survived by one daughter, Shirley Wilkins Carter of Goldsboro; two sons and their wives, Edward and Jody Wilkins of Turkey and Wilbert and Edna Wilkins of Warsaw; one son-in-law, Johnny Whaley of Beulaville; 16 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, Marvin Baker, and his wife, Teresa, and Billy Ray Baker; and 24 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Community Funeral Home of Warsaw, and other times at the home of Edward and Jody Wilkins, 165 W. Faison Ave., Turkey.

Flowers are welcome, or donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
