MILDRED P. UZZELL

June 30, 1920 - July 12, 2005

Mildred Pilley Uzzell, 85, formerly of Goldsboro, died Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Janis Williams, in Morehead City.

Mrs. Uzzell was born June 30, 1920 to the late Charles Owen Pilley and Josephine Harris Pilley. She was married to the late Robert Hodges Uzzell and was a retired telephone operator with Southern Bell Telephone Company. Mrs. Uzzell was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Morehead City. She was a founding member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church in Goldsboro and was a former member of the Shrinettes.

A graveside service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with the Rev. Tim Havlicek officiating.

In addition to her daughter, she is survived by her two sisters, Charlotte P. Carmichael of Raleigh and Raye P. Shoun of LaFollette, Tenn.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Carteret County, 302 Medical Park Court, Morehead City, N.C., 28557.

The family will receive friends at Seymour Home one hour prior to the graveside service on Friday.
