MOUNT OLIVE -- Floyd Ray Thompson, 62, of 707 Slapout Road, died Wednesday at home.

He was born in Wayne County to the late J.C. and Ethel Moore Thompson and was married to Julia Thompson. He was a truck driver for Airride, Inc.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Durham, and one sister, Virginia Howell.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jody and Margaret Thompson of Goldsboro; one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Robert Spencer of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; one sister, Esther Haney of Mount Olive; nine grandchildren, Tommy, Drake, T.J., Billy, Robert Lee, Alexia, Ryan, Rebecca & Christopher; and one great-grandchild, Noel.

Private funeral services will be held.

The family will be receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, and other times at the residence.
