MOUNT OLIVE -- Ella Barfield Brewington, 76, of 356 Lee's Country Club Road, died Friday at her home.
Mrs. Brewington was the daughter of the late Walter Barfield Sr. and Katie Barfield. She was the widow of the late James Brewington, and was a retiree of Cherry Hospital.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday at St. Luke Disciple Church, Waller Road, Mount Olive. The Rev. L.D. Melvin will officiate. Burial will follow in the Carver Memorial Park.
Mrs. Brewington is survived by one daughter, Audrey Carmon of the home; five brothers, Walter (Nannie) Barfield Jr. of Mount Olive, John Barfield Sr. of Mount Olive, Joseph (Hedwig) Barfield of Fayetteville, Alton (Evelyn) Barfield Sr. of Raleigh, and Thomas (Everlena) Barfield Sr. of Dudley; one sister, Lela Mae (Joe) King of Faison; four grandchildren, Chereese Brewington, Danya Bizzell, Christopher Boykins, Inez Luces; and three great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held today from 3 until 7 p.m. at the Garris Funeral Home Chapel, Mount Olive. The family will receive friends at other times at the residence.
