GREENSBORO -- Josephine Bunn Kirby, 90, of 700 South Holden Road, died Monday at Moses Cone Hospital.
A service to celebrate her life will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Kenly Missionary Baptist Church. The service will include Eastern Star Rites and the Rev. George Arant will officiate. Burial will be in Kenly Cemetery.
Mrs. Kirby was the owner of Josephine's Beauty Shop and Kirby's Florist in Kenly. A 45-year member of the Selma Chapter 209 Order of Eastern Star, she held offices of Worthy Matron, District Deputy Grand Matron, Starpoint Office of Martha and Starpoint Office of Ruth. She served as treasurer and WMU Director at Kenly Missionary Baptist Church and decorated the sanctuary each season.
She was the widow of Henry Kirby and was the daughter of the late Joseph Ashton and Ada Mae Edwards Bunn.
Her survivors include one Henry Kirby III of Raleigh; one daughter Melinda K. Brown, of Morehead City; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Coley Funeral Home in Kenly.
