DORIS R. CAREY
PIKEVILLE -- Doris Rebecca Carey, 75, of 942 Bartlett Road, died Thursday evening at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.
A funeral service will be held on this evening at 6 at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. The Reverend Rick Ward and Louis Marriner will officiate. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Patetown Cemetery.
Mrs. Carey was born in Athens, Ga. on June 16, 1930 to the late Ralph McCauley Wages and Lillie Flanagan Wages. She was a member of Saulston United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Benjamin Carey; one son, Gregory Wayne Carey and wife, Michelle of Goldsboro; three daughters, Diane Herring and husband, Johnny of Goldsboro, Pam Ginn and husband, Donnie of Pikeville and Kim Bouillon and husband, Aron of Goldsboro; ten grandchildren, Doug Herring, Amy Smith, Miranda Rackley, Carey Ginn, Brittany Carey, Chad Carey, Taylor Stephenson, Casey Stephenson, Ben Bouillon and Sara Carey; and five great-grandchildren, Jacob Smith, Joel Smith, Payton Herring, Bryce Herring and Jackson Rackley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Wages, and a sister, Lucille Wages.
Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be directed to Saulston United Methodist Church, 4620 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
The family will receive friends following the service this evening at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory, and other times at the residence.
