EUNICE AVERY HEATH
Eunice Avery Heath, 88, of 1505 Palm St., died Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A native of Craven County, she was the daughter of the late Wiley A. and Eula Mariah Hawkins Heath and was married for 67 years to the late Deward Malcolm Heath Sr. Mrs. Heath and her husband owned and operated Heath's Restaurant for many years. She was a charter member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church and was also a member of the Goldsboro Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.
A graveside service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with the Rev. Phillip Hunter officiating.
Mrs. Heath is survived by her daughter, Elaine Heath Herring and husband, Kent of Goldsboro; her sons, John Royal Heath and wife, Lonne of Oriental and Donald Avery Heath and wife, Jane of Florence, S.C.; her sisters, Catherine A. Wood of Cove City, Evelyn A. Reeves of Goldsboro, Cleon A. Lincke of Kinston and Ann A. Mills of Southern Pines; her brother, Wiley Austin Avery of Cove City; nine grandchildren and five great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her son, Deward Malcolm Heath Jr., a sister, Hattie White, and a great-granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Madison Avenue Baptist Church, 300 S. Madison Ave., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside and at other times at the residence.
