THURMAN WEST
KENLY -- Walter Thurman West, 59, of 9140 St. Mary's Church Road, died Wednesday at his home.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Coley Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. David Kriger and Dr. DeWayne Eakes will officiate. Burial will be in Kenly Cemetery.
Mr. West was a member of St. Mary's Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and taught Sunday school. He was a trustee for Carolina Bible Institute Seminary and board member of Kenly Fire Department Corporation.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia "Pat" Turner West; daughter, Shari Corbett of Zebulon; mother and stepfather, Eva Mae and James "Tom" Sullivan of Kenly; sister, Joan West Nixon of Kenly; stepsister, Gale Gurley of Kenly; stepbrother, Danny Sullivan of Selma; and two granddaughters.
His father, Charlie F. West, preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Coley Funeral Home.
