CHARLES EDWARDS

Charles Pearson Edwards, of 2621 Hwy. 70 W., died Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Edwards was born in Wayne County and was the son of the late Luby Edwards and Annie Pearson Edwards. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy and was a farmer in the Rosewood Community. Mr. Edwards had retired with Bill Howell Concrete Construction with 17 years of service and also with James Crawford Asphalt Construction with 8 years of service. He attended Pine Forest United Methodist Church.

A funeral service will be held 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Olsen officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Forest United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife, Ethel Davis Edwards; his son, Bobby Kemp Edwards of Goldsboro; his sisters, Annabelle Wells of Goldsboro and Beulah Jones of Greenville; his grandchildren, Charles Edwards of Goldsboro, Carey E. Mooney and Wendy E. Gratz of Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Brittany Elliott and Sara Flint of Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Pine Forest United Methodist Church, 867 N.C. Hwy. 581 South, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 8 at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the residence.
