CLARENCE & ANNIE MALPASS
MAGNOLIA -- A joint funeral for Annie Malpass, 86, and her husband, Clarence Phines Malpass, 96, was to be held today at 2 p.m. at the First Magnolia Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church. Burial was to be in the Devotional Gardens near Warsaw.
Mrs. Malpass died Saturday at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh and Mr. Malpass died Tuesday at Sampson Regional Hospital in Clinton.
They are survived by a daughter, Rosa Malpass Mitchell, and her husband, William, of Magnolia; one grandchild, Buddy Mitchell and his wife, Diana, of Magnolia; three great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Andrew and Kelsey Mitchell of Magnolia; and Mary Wood, sister of Mr. Malpass, and her husband, Tommy, of Wilmington.
Mrs. Malpass was the daughter of the late Walter and Daisy Strickland.
Mr. Malpass was the son of the late Gustas Malpass and Nolia Rivenbark Malpass. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Gussie Malpass Ezzell, and her husband, James.
The Malpass family received friends on Tuesday night at Community Funeral Home in Rose Hill.
