JAMES E. SMITH
The funeral for James Earl Smith, 72, of 1904 Elton Drive, will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Bear Creek Missionary Baptist Headquarters Building. The Rev. Timothy Dortch will officiate. Burial, with full military honors, will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mr. Smith died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Smith of the home; sons, James E. Smith Jr., Carlton Smith and Michael Smith, all of Goldsboro, Jeffrey Smith of Richmond, Va., and Anthony Taylor, William Taylor and Tommie Taylor of Wilson; daughters, Cynthia Smith, Lisa Spell and Valarie Atkinson of Goldsboro, and Delphia Bynum of Black Creek; a brother, Louis Smith of Philadelphia, Pa.; a sister, Thelma Hobbs of Goldsboro; and 31 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The viewing hours will be from 3 until 9 p.m. today at Hamilton Funeral Chapel.
