RONNIE LANE
FREMONT -- Ronnie Gerald "Dick" Lane, 67, of 306 North St., died Friday at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A funeral service will be held 7 p.m. tonight from the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont. The Rev. Travis Moore will officiate. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Wayne Memorial Park in Goldsboro.
Mr. Lane was a native of Wayne County born on Aug. 30, 1937, to the late Johnnie and Glennie Cox Lane. He was a self-employed painter for nearly 40 years.
He is survived by a special friend and companion, Shirley Johnson of Fremont; one sister, Shirley Crumpler Blackwell of Goldsboro; twelve nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Lane and Howard Lane.
The family will receive friends following the service this evening at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
