SEVEN SPRINGS -- Minnie Adams Potter, 97, of 2777 Zion Church Road, died Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Rouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Anne Sims officiating. Interment will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Mrs. Potter was born in Wayne County to the late Lonnie Edward Adams and Julia Kornegay Adams. She was wife of the late Laney H. Potter and was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Pamela Jo Adams; great-grandson, Joshuriah Gensen Adams; and three brothers, Raymond, Grover and Albert Adams. She was the oldest member of Zion United Methodist Church.
Her survivors include two daughters, Hazel Shivar of Seven Springs and Geneva "Genny" Crumpler and her husband, Bill, of Belfast; three grandchildren, Vernon Shivar and his wife, Sheila, of Goldsboro, Glenn Shivar and his fiancee, Rena Peele, of Colleen, Texas, and Jodie Head of Belfast; three great-grandchildren, Amy Shivar, Dusty Shivar and Stanton Head; two sisters, Mae Ivey of LaGrange and Bertha Potter of Goldsboro; and one brother, Rodolph Adams of Seven Springs.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service on Thursday night, and other times at the residence.
