ROBERTA NICK
Roberta Mae Rich Nick died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Holly Street United Holy Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Rich was the daughter of the late John and Alberta Rich and was married to the late Luther June Nick. She attended Wayne County Public Schools and was employed at Cherry Hospital for many years. An evangelist, she joined Mt. Calvary Free Will Baptist Church in Mount Olive at an early age. In her middle years she joined First Corinthian United Holy Church in Grantham and later joined Mt. Zion United Holy Church in Smithfield. She was also a member of Holly Street United Holy Church in Goldsboro and was active in various community programs including the Welfare Rights Organization.
She is survived by three sons, Lorenza Rich of Goldsboro, Luther Lee Nick Jr. of Goldsboro and John Curtis Nick of Rome, Ga.; three daughters, Sarah Woody of Goldsboro, Carolyn Mitchell of Dudley and Catherine Barnes of Wilson; and 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
The viewing will be on Wednesday from 2 until 6 at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries and will be followed by a wake from 6 until 7 p.m.
