LEE A. DAWSON JR.
Lee Ashton Dawson Jr., 75, of 263-A St. John Church Road, died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Wade Parker and Steve Cayton officiating. Interment will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. Dawson was born in Wayne County and was the son of the late Lee Ashton Dawson and Ruth Grant Dawson. He owned and operated Wayne Motors Inc. in Goldsboro and was a member of St. John Free Will Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Iris Catherine Potter Dawson; one son, Ronnie Lee Dawson of Goldsboro; one daughter, Cathy Dawson Vaughn, and her husband, William Murphy Vaughn, of Goldsboro; his stepmother, Lois Grady Dawson; one brother, James Durwood Dawson of Goldsboro; and three grandchildren, Amber Nicole Dawson, Joseph Lee Stuckey and Murphy Mitchell Vaughn.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Benjamin Dawson; and five sisters, Lois Redmond, Lillie Herring, Carrie Fisk, Ruth Herring and Edna Grady.
The family will receive friends Tuesday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
