LAURA SOUTHERLAND
MAGNOLIA -- Laura Amanda "Granny" Wilson Southerland, 80, passed away April 30, 2005, at home surrounded by family and friends.
Amanda was the daughter of the late John A. and Lennie Batts Wilson.
Amanda is survived by a daughter, Hilda Halberg Sholar and fiance, Luther Register Jr. (Rabbit), and his son, Jake Register, and daughter, Jean Halberg Rouse and husband, Dalton Rouse, all of Magnolia.
Amanda is also survived by five grandchildren, Hollie Russ and husband, Jim of Rose Hill, Christy Cavanaugh of Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, Ohio, Edward (Shane) Sholar III and wife, Amanda of Norfolk Naval Base, Norfolk, Va., Amanda R. King and husband, John (Jack) King IV of Wilmington, and Johnson Sholar of Rose Hill; seven great-grandchildren, Anna Russ, Grace Russ, Bryce Sholar, Tristan Sholar, Kailey Cavanaugh, Kylie Cavanaugh, Jaxon King; and a special great-granddaughter due in June, to be her namesake; four special nieces, and two special nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Magnolia Baptist Church or a charity of choice.
A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2005 at Magnolia Baptist Church. Visitation will be held this evening from 7 until 9 at Community Funeral Home of Warsaw.
