OLIVIA NEVINS
MANASSAS, Va. -- Olivia Edmundson Nevins, 67, died Tuesday, April 19, at her residence.
She was the daughter of the late R.J. and Lutoria Edmundson and was the widow of retired Major William J. Nevins. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Edmundson.
She was a graduate of the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina Greensboro and was a retired program manager for the office of Information Management, Office of Environment, Safety and Health, with the United States Department of Energy. She was Operations Manager for TERA Corporation and Senior Consultant for Trident Systems. She also served as president of the Officer's Wives Club during her husband's service in the U.S. Marine Corps and was an active volunteer throughout her life.
Survivors include three sisters, Susan Hill and husband Ron of North Branch, Minn., Donna Nevins of Jersey City, N.J., and Dianne Nevins of Boone; one sister, Carol Belin of Clearfield, Pa.; one sister-in-law, Percy Edmundson of Greensboro; and one grandson, Christian Reye Nevins of Boone.
The funeral was held Monday, April 25, at All Saints Catholic Church, 9300 Stonewall Road, Manassas. Interment was in Quantico National Cemetery in Triangle, Va.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Fremont United Methodist Church, 106 N. Sycamore St., Fremont; and the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society at www.nmcrs.org.
