JOHN BERGMAN
The funeral for John Howard Bergman, 55, who died on April 16 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home in Chelsea, Michigan. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Michigan.
Mr. Bergman was born in Ann Harbor, Mich., and was the son of Alice Quigley Bergman and the late Howard Bergman. He graduated from Chelsea High School in 1967 and enjoyed school sports. He was an avid hunter and fisherman in his early years, but golfing became his favorite pastime. He attended Jackson Community College and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of Vietnam. He was vice president and chief information officer for North Carolina Community Federal Credit Union in Goldsboro.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two children, Stasie Bredernitz and James Bergman both of Ann Arbor, Michigan; one brother, Steven Bergman; and three sisters, Janet Buku and Beverly Holly of Chelsea, Mich., and Debbie Walter of Dexter.
The family will receive friends today from 3 until 5 p.m. and 7 until 9 p.m. at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral.
Memorial Donations may be made to the Vietnam Veteran Memorial Fund.
