PAUL BASS
MOUNT OLIVE -- Paul Bass, 83, of 145 Davis Road, died Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday at the New St. Delight Holy Church. The Rev. Quincy Gardner will officiate. Burial will follow in the Carver Memorial Park.
Mr. Bass was the son of the late Ellard and Geneva F. Bass. He was a former employee of J.P. Stevens Company and a retired farmer. He was a member of New St. Delight Holy Church, where he served on the Usher Board.
He is survived by one daughter, Brenda Taswell of Goldsboro; three sons, Kenneth Bass of Waldorf, Md., Eddie Bass, and Rickie Bass of Mount Olive; two brothers, Benjamin Bass and Joseph Bass of Mount Olive; 26 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held today from 3 until 6 p.m. at the Garris Funeral Home Chapel. The family will be present from 5 until 6 p.m. to receive friends. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leo and Brenda Taswell, 104 Crestwood Place, in Goldsboro.
The funeral procession will line up Monday at 12 p.m. at 145 Davis Road, Mount Olive, in preparation for the funeral.
Garris Funeral Home is serving the family.
