JAMES HOLLOMAN
WALSTONBURG -- James David Holloman, 74, of 1479 Moore Town Road, died Wednesday at his home.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Church Street Chapel of Farmville Funeral Home. The Rev. Tony Glass will officiate. Burial will be in Walstonburg Cemetery.
Mr. Holloman was born in Pitt County and lived in the Walstonburg area of Greene County most of his life. He was a retired farmer and cattleman. He was a Korean War veteran and served in the United States Air Force as a staff sergeant from 1952-1956. He also served as a commander of the American Legion Post #332 and had been an active member for more than 40 years. He was a lifetime member of Howell Swamp Free Will Baptist Church and was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jarvis and Mattie Gay Holloman, a brother, Richard Holloman, and his twin brother, Jarvis Holloman.
He is survived by his wife, Faye M. Holloman of the home; one daughter, Sabrina Holloman and special friend, Mike Cox, of Hookerton; one son, Derek Holloman and wife, Holly, of Walstonburg; a stepson, Richard Turnage and wife, Joni, of Wilson; his grandchildren, Shay Whitley, Jamie and Bailey Holloman, Josh and Banx Turnage; a sister, Edna H. Melton and husband, Allie, of Goldsboro; and a sister-in-law, Eddie Holloman of Snow Hill.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Farmville Funeral Home.
