J.B. GRANTHAM
James Benjamin "J.B." Grantham, 68, of 170 Community Drive, died unexpectedly on Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held tonight at 7 at Rosewood First Baptist Church with the Rev. Vernon Braswell officiating. Interment will be on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Grantham was born in Wayne County and was the son of the late Herman C. Grantham and Bessie Mitchell Grantham. He worked with Car Quest of Goldsboro and was an active member of Rosewood First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher and an usher.
He is survived by his wife, Eloise P. Grantham of the home; his daughters, Beverly G. Bartholomew and husband Jeff of Raleigh and Susan G. Tyner and husband Mike of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, April T. Tyndall and husband Ryan of Goldsboro and Courtney Tyner of Goldsboro; his great-granddaughter, Madison Tyndall; and his sister, Pearl G. Whaley and husband Jovance.
He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Mary Parrish of Goldsboro; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Grantham of Goldsboro, Clark and Faye Parrish of Goldsboro and John and Ernestine Edgerton of Gastonia; several nieces and nephews; and two special canine companions, "Missy" and "Maggie".
He was preceded in death by his brother, Rudy Grantham, and his sister, Arabella Wells.
The family will receive friends at Rosewood First Baptist Church today from 6 until 7 p.m. and also following the service.
