FIRST LADY NETTIE HILL DAWSON
God, in His infinite Wisdom, saw fit to call our beloved Nettie Hill Dawson home from labor to reward on Sunday, March 20, 2005.
Nettie was a peaceful and caring individual who exemplified the "Fruit of the Spirit."
She was the daughter of Willie and the late Christine Hill of Trenton, North Carolina. In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Ricky L. Dawson, pastor of Woods Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, Goldsboro, North Carolina, one son, Garrick Deshon Dawson, and a daughter, Jasmine Cierra Dawson of Goldsboro, North Carolina.
First Lady Dawson was an active member of Woods Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, where she served on the Mother Board. She enjoyed working with the youth, attending Bible Study and Sunday School. She did not allow her illness to hinder her from supporting her husband as First Lady.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day . . ." 2 Timothy 4:7-8.
Mrs. Dawson loved her family and friends, and enjoyed being with them. She was a very dedicated mother to Jasmine and Garrick.
"Nettie, you will be truly missed."
An Inspirational Service will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at Woods Chapel Free Will Baptist Church from 7 until 8:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the United American Free Will Baptist Tabernacle, 1011 University Street, Kinston, North Carolina, on Thursday, March 24, at 1 p.m.
