OLIVE JONES
SEVEN SPRINGS -- Olive Williams Jones, 78, died Monday night at SunBridge Care Center in Mount Olive.
She was a long-time resident of Pineview Cemetery Road, Seven Springs, and in recent years had been a resident of the Mount Olive Retirement Village. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Mount Olive ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
The funeral will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive with the Rev. Steven Wicks officiating. Committal and interment will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Pineview Cemetery.
Mrs. Jones is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Major M. and Kitsie Anderson Jones of Mount Olive, and Douglas and Gail Thornton Jones of Goldsboro; two brothers, Grover Williams and Donald Williams, both of Seven Springs; four sisters, Johnnie W. Summerlin and Dora W. Beavers, both of Seven Springs, Sallie W. Hardy of Mount Olive, and Esther W. Hardy of Norfolk, Va.; five grandchildren, Tony Jones, of Mount Olive, Kristie Jones Norton of Canton, Sharon Jones Stone, of Durham, Brian Jones of Goldsboro, and Glenda Bunch of Edenton; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Manley Jones; a son, Oliver Jones; a brother, James H. "Buck" Williams; and her parents, Jesse Paul and Emma Edwards Williams.
Mrs. Jones will lie in state at Tyndall Funeral Home on Wednesday until 6:45 p.m. and the family will receive friends at the funeral home following the funeral. At other times they will be at the home of Major and Kitsie Jones, 314 Tadlock Road, Mount Olive.
