ANGELENE G. NORRIS
MOUNT OLIVE -- Angelene Giddings Norris, 94, of 402 West Main St., died Wednesday at her home.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home with Phil Faucette and Nolan Wiggins presiding. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
Born August 13, 1910, in Wayne County, Mrs. Norris was the daughter of the late Joseph Emmett and Daisy Martin Giddings. She graduated from Mount Olive High School in 1937 attended North Carolina College for Women at Greensboro. She taught at Hood Swamp School for four years and she and her husband, Jasper Lee Norris, operated a flower business until his death in 1972.
She was a long-time member of the Mount Olive Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and enjoyed sharing Scripture with many people over the years.
Her survivors include a sister, Grace Giddings Pearce of Franklinton; a daughter and son-in-law, Daisy Jo Norris Wiggins and Nolan Wiggins of Mount Olive; a son and daughter-in-law, James Clayton Norris and Rhonda G. Norris of Lawton, Okla.; daughters-in-law, Nancy P. Norris of Mount Olive and Edna S. Norris of Clinton; grandchildren, Donna Gayle Norris Flecha and husband Edgardo Flecha of Mount Olive, Paula Angelene Norris Powers and husband Michael Powers of Clinton, Lisa Karen Norris Strickland and husband Michael Strickland of Clinton, James Clayton Norris Jr. and wife Kelli of Edmond, Okla., Rebecca Norris Herring and husband Randy of Lawton, Okla., Jerry Dean Norris of Florida; and Jerry Martin Norris and wife Denise of Newton Grove; and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Lee Norris; two sons, Jasper Lee Norris Jr. and Jerry Martin Norris; a grandson, Jasper Lee Norris III; a nephew, Thilbert H. Pearce Jr.; a sister, Rachel Heath; and two brothers, Ray Giddings and Joseph Giddings.
The family will receive friends at Tyndall Funeral Home on Friday from 7 until 9 p.m. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to the Mount Olive Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
