VERNON ZIMMERMAN
FREMONT -- The funeral for Vernon Zimmerman, 69, of 923 Chestnut St., will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Tedaro Reid will officiate. Burial will be in Fremont Cemetery.
Mr. Zimmerman was the son of the late Charlie and Amber Zimmerman. He had worked as a chef and operated his own construction business.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Webb Zimmerman of the home; one daughter, Valerie Zimmerman of Raleigh; one son, Vernon Zimmerman Jr. of Newport News, Va.; one stepson, Peter Wallace Bridgers of Wilson County; one sister, Alma Zimmerman Montague of Wilson; and one grandchild.
The viewing will be today from 3 until 9 p.m.. at Hamilton Funeral Home in Wilson, and the family will be there to receive friends from 7 until 8 tonight.
At other times they will be at the residence and will assemble there one hour prior to the service on Friday.
