MELBA MASSENGILL
PRINCETON -- The funeral for Melba Johnson Massengill, 87, will be held tonight at 7 in the chapel of Casey Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday.
Mrs. Massengill died Saturday.
She was born in Johnston County to the late Cunning Ham and Nellie Hardee Johnson and was the widow of Walton Everett Massengill.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Robert H. and Edna Massengill of Princeton; one daughter, Jean M. Rains of Clayton; one brother, Hampton Johnson of Benson; one sister, Marie J.. Barnes of Lucama; and five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to and immediately following the service tonight.
Although flowers are welcome, the family suggests that donations may be made to Princeton United Methodist Church.
