LESLIE HERRING
Leslie Joseph Herring, 29, of 624 Sheridan Forest Road, died Friday in Clarendon County, S.C.
A native of Wayne County, he was the son of Gail Brogden Herring and the late Louis Herring. He was a 1993 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and a 1999 graduate of Chowan College with a B.S. degree in physical education. He refereed and umpired many sporting events in the area. He was a member of the Goldsboro Moose Lodge and was an avid Tar Heel fan.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Moran officiating. Interment will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brothers, Michael Herring and wife, Tammy, of Seven Springs, and Travis Herring and wife, Candace, of Goldsboro; his girlfriend, Beth Peoples of Goldsboro; his niece and nephews, Cathryn Herring of Goldsboro, Kyle Herring and Steven Parks both of Seven Springs; and his special pet, "Josie".
Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to St. John Free Will Baptist Church, 1926 S. NC Hwy. 111, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service and other times at Leslie's home.
