HAROLD MILLS JR.
RALEIGH -- Harold Lloyd Mills Jr., 53, died of colon cancer on Monday, Jan. 24. at Rex Hospital.
Born Nov. 8, 1951, in Greenville, N.C., he was the son of Martha Whitehurst Mills and the late H. Lloyd Mills Sr.
He received a bachelor of science degree from East Carolina University in 1973 and a master of art's degree in education in 1975. Beginning his career as an instructor of Business Education at Wilson County Technical Institute, Mr. Mills later moved into the healthcare management field and had been a consultant with Healthcare Consulting Inc. of Greensboro. He was a charter member of the All American Kiwanis Club in Wilson and was active in several civic organizations, such as Habitat for Humanity.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd. Entombment will be in the church columbarium. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service.
Surviving are his wife, Deborah Vann Mills; one son, David Newell Mills of LaGrange; one daughter, Mary Hannah Mills of Greensboro and Raleigh; his mother, Martha Whitehurst Mills of Greenville, N.C.; brother, Samuel A. Mills of Greenville, N.C.; sister, Carolyn Mills Davis of Goldsboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
