DORIS VANDIFORD
Doris Harris Vandiford, 83, died Thursday at her home at 403 Cardinal Drive.
The funeral will be held Sat-urday at 11 a.m. at Sey-mour Fun-eral Home Chapel. The Rev. Jimmy Whitfield and the Rev. Bill Rose will officiate. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.
A native of Pitt County, Mrs. Vandiford was the daughter of the late Thad Harris Sr. and Betty McLawhorn Harris and was married to the late Herman Elias Vandiford. She was retired from Burlington Industries and was a member of The First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Joan Tanner and Pat Cole of Goldsboro and Connie Sue Vandiford of the home; a son, Duane Vandiford of LaGrange; her sisters, Joyce Vick of Farmville and Jean Turnage of Goldsboro; a brother, Willie G. Harris of Snow Hill; and eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Vandiford was preceded in death by her brothers, Thad Harris, Jr., Elmer Lee Harris and Ola Ray Harris.
The family will receive friends today from 6 until 8 at Seymour Funeral Home, and at other times at the residence.
